The fabric is made using the rare traditional technique of "hikihaku" from Nishijin, Kyoto.
Hikihaku is a technique in which gold, silver or coloured foil is pasted onto Japanese paper, which is then cut into thin strips and woven into threads.
Instead of pressing foil onto fabric, the unique way of weaving it directly into the threads themselveshas produced a beauty with a special depth since ancient times. Applying this traditional technique to the modern era,it expresses a unique texture with a three-dimensional quality and depth, like tweed.

The foil-covered threads threaded through the loom by the delicate hands of artisans change appearance with the light.
In the morning, it feels soft; at dusk, it carries a gentle warmth; and under the evening light, it reveals a striking contrast. These subtle shifts create an irreplaceable beauty, born from the delicate sensibilities of skilled craftsmanship.
That is why we place the preservation and continuation of these techniques at the very heart of our creative process. By layering contemporary creations onto the aesthetic sensibilities cultivated over centuries in Japan, we weave them into a new value that endures into the future.
